Teacher of the Year 2020

Congratulations to Kristin Parker, the 2020 Teacher of the Year at BIS!


Kristin Parker graduated from Stephen Decatur and attended Salisbury University receiving a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, a minor in mathematics, and certification in Elementary Mathematics. She earned her Master's in Reading from Walden University. After seven years as a fourth-grade teacher and two years as a math interventionist at BIS, Parker provides an inquiry-based environment where students experience math to create their own meaning. She is currently on the PLC Leadership team, Math School Improvement Team, and will be completing Salisbury University’s Leadership program this spring. Additionally, she’s involved in youth sports and Christian Education at her church.
