Congratulations to Michael Anne Bunting, the 2019 Teacher of the Year at BIS!

Michael Anne Bunting

Mrs. Michael Anne Bunting graduated from Stephen Decatur in 1999, and attended Salisbury University, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a Psychology minor, Reading Specialist Master’s degree, and certification in Special Education and Math 4-9.   She is currently in her 15th year of teaching at BIS.  She started teaching 5th grade Math, Reading, and Science,  but now teaches 6th grade Math.  Building a community of learners where everyone enters her class knowing that they are loved and respected and that they have value is her passion.  She is on the PBIS team, the One School One Book Committee, PLC Leadership, and is the BIS webmaster assistant.  She is also an After School Academy teacher of Random Acts of Kindness, Walking Club, LEGO STEM, Courtyard Clean Up, Recycling, Photography, and Shark Success and coaches and assists with the youth sports that her children are involved with.
